Hello everyone!
I am a 28 year old (soon to be 29) who has been married for 2 1/2 years. Hubby and I have no children...other than our 2 year old , 200 pound pot bellied pig that lives with us indoors. They say a PBP is like having a 2 year old at all times which is very trying. But I love him to pieces.
I am a Purchasing Agent for a small business in Cleveland, OH. All that means is that I get to look for good deals all day, and spend someone else's money! :-) My husband is a machine operator for a plastics company.
We have aquired quite a bit of debt over the years and are very determined to pay it all off this year (a total of $25,000 worth!) except for our mortgage.
We originally lived in a house in the city of Akron, but moved to our present location (out in the country) about 2 years ago. Because I am very frugal (sometimes to the point of being cheap), we bought this fixer-upper house for $35,000 at auction. We are fixing it up room by room which has taken some time and we still need another couple of years to completely finish.
We also purchased the house next door last October. It was a foreclosure with a 1/2 acre of land. We bought it for $7800. Not only do we use the house for storage while we are fixing up our house, it doubled our property size. We couldnt pass it up. One day, we will tear down the house on that land, but for now, we are happy with the way things are. There are only 3 houses on our dead end road - and we own 2 of them. :-)
I love to garden, but due to the newness of the house and soil, we didnt do very well last year. I pretty much grew what I could on our back porch in pots. 2 tomatoe plants & 50 strawberry plants along with red raspberries (in the ground). This year, I hope to grow alot of tomatoes, greenbeans, and zuchs to can.
Hubby and I believe in frugality and making the most of our money. We are very strict with our budget but feel we are entitled to have some fun too! We love to travel, and our passion (jointly) is wine! We discovered it together 3 years ago and havent looked back since! Our dream is to one day sell our own wine to the public.
