How do you find time to make it homemade?

Started by Kimberly , author of Raising Olives 7/28/2010 1:37:06 PM

I love spending time creating and making things homemade, but often find myself short on time, buying pre-made and skipping creative time.

How do you find time to do those fun (but not necessary) projects?

Ah yes! Well here is my own problem. I work long days, sometimes 12-13 hours before coming home and trying to get some sewing done just to rest my brain.

I have started a blog:

http://sewahundred.blogspot.com/

that suggests how I am overcoming my need to get some projects done and completed.

I would go mad without the opportunity to create and make home made goodies for my grandchildren.

I started a site with really easy recipes, that's how I've been doing it.  I have been incorporating store bought and homeade items.

If I am short on time, I also incorporate a box mix with some homemade goodies for my cupcakes. For examples, I 'll add 1/2 cup of juice, or soda to the box mix, which will make a moist, flavorful cupcake.  It's half homemade, and everyone still likes it.

I go for bulk freezer cooking.  I love the recipes from www.savingdinner.com

I have the same problem so i make Sunday's my cooking day.  That means i cook 4-5 things like stock, marinade chicken, stews etc. and have in the refrigerator or freezer for the week.  My dinner preparations during the week are max. 30 minutes.

Oh this is so me..  I am a new CURVES owner and no longer a SAHM  the first time in 24 years to work out side the home full time.  I miss all the creative time I once had.  I take advantage of Saturday and Sunday.  Or try too.  I am having a bit of a spazzz that the Christmas cards are not done.  Yikes...  I have to find some of that time.  dropping TV is good.  I cant drop sleep...  I am a weenie..  I got to get my rest..  If not I am useless.
