Do you sew your own clothes?

I am so inspired by all the new re-fashion blogs out there.  I would love to join in! Do you sew or re-fashion your own clothes?

When I was younger, I use to be big into sewing. My first job out of high school was at a JoAnn Fabrics.  I LOVED it!  I used to make clothes for all my dolls and stuffed animals.  I still make easy things like napkins and tablecloths (love picking out my own fabrics and matching them to the tablecloths) but I don't have time to make actual clothes anymore.  I am in awe of women who not only sew theirown clothes but design them too!

I just barely started sewing this past year. I am having the greatest time refashioning clothes. I have done maybe 6 or 7 sweaters and am in the process of 4 shirt refashions. It's so liberating to be able to make something by hand that is unique!

I feel like such a loser - I don't know how to sew.  I am just excited I taught myself to crochet, a few years ago. Who knows, maybe sewing will be next.  :-)

Not mine-not yet! But, I have just started re-doing the girls clothes-made an adorable handkerchief dress thanks to a tutorial over at prudent baby-love it!

Holly-
You use to work at JoAnn's?!?!?!? I had no idea! I always thought that would be an amazing place to work. So much fabric!
I have made my own clothes, and clothes for the kids. Then I started making purses, and now I am in to taking old clothes and turning them into something new.
I wish I had more time to devote to it.... maybe when my kids are older!

I will sew if it is something small that needs a mini repair. If it's anything larger, it goes to my mom.

I just made a shopping bag today following a great tutorial I found online.  I wish I could sew clothing...it just makes no sense to me.

I wish!  I can barely sew a button on.  I have a sewing machine collecting dust in the top of my closet.  Maybe one day this summer, I will get inspired and try again.

I LOVE to sew.  My husband I actually met through Civil War Reenacting and I used to make ALL of my period clothes!

Now with three little ones at home - I can't set up shop at the kitchen table and leave things sprawled all over the house!  Which means when I DO decide to sew it's after they are in bed for the night!
