Striving For Balance

Started by HoosierHomemade , author of Hoosier Homemade ~ Making Your House A Home 9/21/2011 7:00:11 AM

Striving for Balance...hmmm that's a tough one. I definitely struggle with balance. I think all Moms do. There is just so much to be done and not enough time in the day.

  • Mom
  • Wife
  • Blogging
  • Work
  • Cooking
  • Baking
  • Housecleaning
  • Laundry
  • Yard Work
  • Homework
  • Taxi Driver
  • And the list goes on and on

We all know how crazy our lives get. Cerra is a new, fun, progressive brand that has created a suite of products to help busy women like us achieve balance and well-being. They created the Seven Intentions...Grounded, Creative Energy, Gratitude, Loving Kindness, Courage, Wisdom, or Inspiration. Each Intention has its own unique way of teaching you about how to live a life full of meaning. Follow Cerra on Facebook for more inspiration as well!

I have had many friends, family and fellow bloggers ask how I accomplish everything with my blogs.  I do work A LOT...usually 12 hours a day, 7 days per week. But I LOVE it...it's my passion! I also have a wonderful husband that helps me and I have teenage boys that are able to take care of themselves {pretty much}. I know lots of other bloggers with little children, and I have no idea how they are able to handle everything.

My blogs, Hoosier Homemade, Pocket Change Gourmet and It's A Blog Party all keep me VERY busy, and honestly I strive for balance every single day.

I'm curious to know: In your busy everyday life, how do you strive for balance? By replying you will be entered to win one of two prizes! First Prize: $150 to a Local Spa, plus $50 Gift Certificate to the Cerra Boutique. Second Prize: One of Five $100 Gift Certificates to the Cerra Boutique.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cerra. The opinions and text are all mine. Official Contest Rules.

I just keep moving. I tick down a mental list of all the things I have to get done. I check them off as I go, at the end of the day sometimes it's all done and sometimes it isn't.

I keep a schedule and check off things as I do them and make sure I always have atleast fifteen minutes outside and 45 minutes of exercise.

I make sure I stop my activity and relax when I am stressed out or overwhelmed. Take time for you!

I absolutely have to start with some quiet time early in the morning.  We have been using a schedule with some effectiveness.

I try to stay as organized as possible with my time..but in the big scheme of life I no longer sweat the small stuff. I have priorities...spending time with my kids and Hubby takes priority over a spotless house! I also find me time because it makes me a better calmer Mom.

I strive for balance by taking time to "regroup" at night, after the children go to bed. I also like to sneak out back, onto the deck, whenever I can ... just to hear the birds and enjoy some fresh air. Lynda T. Sterlingdreams925@yahoo.com

I strive for balance by making time for me. In between dropping off my kids to school I head to the gym. I make sure I have lunches with my friends and girls night out. I also make sure to have plenty of time for my husband. We try to go out once a month just the two of us.

I just try to remember that I can't do everything and prioritize my to do list one day at a time.
