How much do you blog over the summer?

Started by Ginny Marie , author of Lemon Drop Pie 6/7/2012 2:04:22 PM

I'm going to try to keep publishing posts, but it gets harder and harder when the kids are home from school!

Oh, I missed the BlogFrog community hop.  Bummer!  I guess I'll catch it next time.

I usually keep the same momentum going through summer, but cry myself to sleep over the lack of comments and participation while the rest of blog land takes a break.

I think I've been posting a little less....  Have tons I want to do posts of; I think I need to figure out how to have them written ahead of time and scheduled or something.  LOL.  Still learning!

It all depends on how tired I am when the kids go to bed! ;) I try to post 3x a week, but often only write two posts and sometimes even one. I know, that's bad for blog traffic!

I only publish 3x per week so I don't think I can reduce that.  How many times do you usually blog per week?

Oh, yes, that's my problem too! So many ideas floating around in my head, so little time to write them down!

Oh, that's true too! Everyone is having to much summer fun to read blogs! I'm guilty of that, too.

Ginny,

I just read the best book I know of on building and engaging a blog, FB and Twitter following.  It's called Platform by Michael Hyatt.  I know he has hundreds of thousands of followers to his blog but I've never been one of them.  But after reading this book I think I will.

Oh, by the way, he says 3-5x a week is best.  Forgot that's the reason I was sharing the book with you :).

Sounds like a great resource! I only have to look at my own blog stats to know that's true. In November when I publish every day for NaBloPoMo I have very high stats. In the summer months when my children are home from school and the weather is nice, I blog less, and have the lowest blog stats. ;)

You've been very successful, Fawn, in building your blog and FB page! Your FB page is amazing--you have so much interaction! You've definitely found your niche.

I've actually been posting a little more I believe as my youngest has broken his leg, so in the house more with record temps in Georgia in the mid 90's  I have not  necessarily joined in a lot of conversations, but have blogged in my community quiet a bit an inspirational poem,  a few recent  paintings and my summer flowers.  Check them out  if you get a chance at authorartistmomof2 community.....

I stopped by to leave a comment...I hope your son's leg heals quickly and well!  We have some hot temps coming to Chicago later this week, so we will probably stay in the A/C, too!
