How did you come up with the name for your blog?

Started by Ginny Marie , author of Lemon Drop Pie 1/31/2012 7:55:47 AM

My blog is not a recipe blog, but I didn't think people might thing that when I made up the name! It's about the sweet and sour life I lead after being diagnosed with breast cancer 15 years ago.

How did you come up with the name for your blog?

I tried to think of key words that would be what I write about.  All I could think of was laugh!  :)

I didn't even know about key words when I made up of the name of my blog! Or SEO, or anything to do with blogging. I just jumped in! I've learned a lot about blogging in the last 3 1/2 years.

I knew I wanted a name that started with the same letters....matching my niche...teaching... :)
then I decided to do the same for my second site : Perfect Parties

I actually had a ton of great names for my blog to choose from (I seriously have a whole list).  I settled on "Coolest Family on the Block" because I wanted it to be able to work as a family blog but also a niche blog (for traditions and family fun ideas, etc) and I figured it worked both ways.  I also wanted something people would remember or think was funny.  My aunt always says that we're the coolest family on the block...so I went with it.  I guess it works because I get a lot of compliments on the name...and my lesser known tagline, "We put the fun in dysFUNctional." ;)

It's something I found myself saying a lot, "There's just one mommy..." when both kids were wanting things and the dog was barking and wanting out, and I was trying to cook dinner....

I have said the same thing to my kids! Fortunately we don't have a dog. ;) I think it's the perfect name for your blog!

Hello! I am In a similar situation like you and I got the name because at the time it fit like a piece in a puzzle!!

It's funny because it just came to me and when I mentioned the name to my husband he could barely contain all the laughter :).
