Comfort Food When You're Sick?

Started by Barb , author of This Busy Life | Enjoying Life Together 1/30/2012 12:19:23 PM

I'm just getting over the flu. What a terrible week I've had. Although I couldn't stomach too much, I did find comfort in a grill cheese sandwich and chicken noodle soup. What do you like to eat when you're not feeling well?

Oh, I'm sorry you've been so sick! When I feel like I'm getting a cold or the flu, I make hot water with lemon juice and honey. I also like chicken noodle soup.

But when I was going through chemotherapy, one of the only foods I could stomach was plain mashed potatoes. Even water tasted bad!

What a beautiful post. I am so sorry you had to go through such a horrible sickness.

One of my dear friends has just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. So sad.

Toast with butter is always my comfort food.  But right now I'm found a really good twist on tea:

cyan pepper (ground)

1/2 freshly squeezed lemon

8-10 oz water heated

1 tbs of pure honey or blue aguave

Its got a kick, but it helps me get over sinus infections like nothing was wrong with me!  Love it!

I think I would like a kick! Especially if I have a stuffy nose. ;)

Mashed potoes are always good when your sick or otherwise. I

I have no idea why, but I love buttered noodles when I'm sick. For some reason, my mom always made them for me when I wasn't feeling well. Maybe it's just cause it brings back memories of her but I do love them!
