Mall Shopping

Started by Amy , author of Me, Chloe and the boys! 2/13/2011 8:42:05 AM

I went to the mall the other day, which I don't normally do.  But we found out on Wednesday that we are having a girl, and for that you must shop.

I had my four and then one that I babysit, and of course I am obviously pregnant.

I got the rudest looks!  Mind you, they all had hand buddies, no one was misbehaving through the whole thing, but people just looked at me with a disgusted look on their face!  AND THEN THEY SAW MY BELLY.

Like I said, I don't normally go to the mall at all, and if I go it's usually with one or two kids, not the whole kit and kaboodle.

How do you handle situations like this?  I felt sooooo out of place and awkward!  Just wait until I am pushing a stroller around as well.blush

If people don't actually say anything, I probably would just try to ignore them. Was it other shoppers or salespeople that were giving you looks? I could see that salespeople might see a huge group of kids coming in and fear for their store's safety, that the kids might get into things and mess them up. It sounds like you kids were very well behaved so hopefully they learned that not all kids have to be horrible. Often people give me looks (with my 4 only) but then when we are ready to leave somewhere we get comliments because they are so surprised 4 kids didn't equal absolute chaos. (Not that we don't have our moments.)

It was both Nebby.  And yes, sometimes we get compliments, but I never realized how people viewed us, I guess, until then.  If only they knew what joy it is!
