I went to the petco by the Clackamas Target yesterday and brought it my Purina Pro-Plan bogo and free packets of pet food coupons.  I expected to pay some money for the BOGOs, but I also signed up for their Pal Card and walked out of the store with six cans and three small packets of dry cat food for free!  When I know that my transaction will be free, I usually grab something like a little extra can of cat food so it does not look tacky.  I did not realize this would be free until the clerk handed me a receipt and said thank you.

These coupons also apply to dog food.

I also picked up free fish food there a few weeks ago with some coupons I found on another blog.
