Blog Boundaries

Started by Caroline 9/28/2011 12:12:02 PM

I would like to talk about BOUNDARIES in blogging.

Have you ever put your foot in your mouth, or wished you could take something back?

Are there things you won't talk about?

How about things you don't want to even READ about?

What are your blogging boundaries and what do you do when those boundaries are crossed?

Good to know Susan! I'll have to see if my library does check outs via Kindle. ;)

Yes, local library has to be set up. Ask them to do it if they aren't.

Great chatting with everyone! Catch you later!

I enjoy reading posts that inspire me to be a better mother, wife, friend, and sister. I enjoy writing posts that may make others laugh! I won't write posts that may break the trust of my spouse.

I don't want to read details about someone's marriage problems, or constant exhibitions of their depression or anger issues.

Have a bad day and by all means, blog your heart out, but have it be part of working through the issue, not just word vomit every day about how much you hate your life. If a person is in a dark pit of anger or despair every single day they need to get help and not just vent constantly. Again- venting is fine, but remember to count your blessings every so often.

I think people need to realize that anything you put online can be seen by anyone and if you wouldn't talk about it with all of your neighbors, it's probably a good idea to mark those posts as private. I am always amazed at those who are super offended when their blog posts come back to haunt them and how violated they feel when they throw something horrible out there with no thought to the fact that the internet is public.

Also- off topic- I just blogged about my library and Kindle today. Go to your library's website and see f the have a digital section and that should steer you in the right direction. :) You'll need your library card number and pin. I'm in SLC and the public libraries are set up to do e-books on Kindle. :)
