Where Do You "Church"?

Started by Sarah , author of Kingdom Twindom 12/11/2010 8:11:38 PM

One of my favorite things that has happened through this blog is that friendships have been made between people who hang here! In that spirit, where do you live? And if you have a home church in your town that you'd like to share with us, please do so!

I attend Faith Mountain Fellowship Church in Red River, NM (where I live). It's a non-denominational church full of crazy faith, profoundly biblical Christians and I am honored to be a part of it:)

I live in upstate South Carolina.  I have lived in one of the Carolinas my whole life.  My husband in native to North Carolina, but this feels like home to both of us.  We met here in college and moved to NC when we were married, but didn't last long before we had to come back.  Our church is North Hills Community Church.  Officially we are nondenominational.  We love it there because the teaching is expositional, solid, theologically sound, and so thorough.  We just finished the book of Luke and it took more than four years to get through it.  The have a really big focus on missions, which we love, and there are a lot of local outreaches too- a restaurant owner from our church runs a homeless meal ministry each week, we do a prison ministry for men and women, we work with some local overcoming addiction programs, etc.  it is just so nice to be in a place where you can SEE God working on such a regular basis.  I love our church and what God has done through our marriage and family because of it.  If God ever calls us to move away where we can't be a part of this part of the body anymore, I will be very sad!

We changed churches about a year ago.  It was really hard, and we have lost some dear friendships because of it.  But, we felt a clear calling to go somewhere new.

We ended up at a Baptist church very close to our house.  In the last year, we've gotten involved in small group of like-minded couples, and we've been challenged to give more, to think more of others, to reach out with Jesus' love even when it's hard, and more.

PS - I forgot to say that one of my favorite things about our new church is that we hold each other accountable.  Men will talk to each other about speaking to their wives more lovingly, etc.  I love it!

We very happily worship at CityLight Church in NYC.  It is a non denominational church and it is where I truly learned to love the Lord!

We have been ten years at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville Kentucky.  We have about 20,000 for a weekend in three services plus two satellite locations that meet via video.  It is something I never thought I would be a part of.....attending a mega church, but I love it.  I attended a church of about 200 people before moving to Kentucky.  Quite a change!!

We also live in upstate SC, but not for long.  We'll be moving to SW Florida soon.  :)  We are from this area, lived in SW FL for 13 years, then back here for 5, now we are going back.  Clear as mud?  Ha.  Anyway, we are LDS (Mormon) and look for our local Ward where ever we go.

We live in Melissa, Texas, and attend Victory Life Church in Sherman, Texas.  Victory Sherman is a satellite of Victory Life in Durant, Oklahoma.  Pastor Duane's messages are all free online if anybody's interested.  I know everybody loves their pastors, and I'm no exception - he's awesome.

I attend the LDS Church (otherwise known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).  My ward house is in Herriman, Utah.  I know you are shocked!  A Mormon in Utah!
