You are His Delight

Started by At the Well , author of At the Well | In Pursuit of Titus 2 7/23/2010 8:47:19 AM

Everyone of us has had at least one moment. You know the one: when you realize that for some reason, through all the trouble and pain you put God through, the He still loves you.

Psalm 18:19 (NLT) says: He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me. This is a psalm of David, that he sang in praise to the Lord when he was rescued from his enemies and from Saul that you can read about in 2 Samuel 21 and 22. God provided David with everything he needed to reach safety, even when it seemed everyone was conspiring against him.

We are blessed because the God we worship is Jehovah-jireh, God Who Provides, and he loves us with an unfailing love even, no especially when we have nothing left on this earth that's going our way.

So tell us, when has God provided for you when your world was falling apart? When has God picked YOU up and delivered you to safety?

thanks for sharing this...God has provided for me and my family even in the times I don't recognize it. I woke up today feeling a little bit down but your encouragement made me realize that wherever we are in our life...He is there and He will provide.

I always think back 5 years ago when he provided for me safety and PICKED me up. He's an awesome God! My husband lost his job 5 times in one year, when we were just newly married and He provided for us. Today, I'm feeling down and He provided someone like you (even I'm facing a computer right now) to remind me that He's our provider, our Jehovah Jireh!

God isn't limited- He uses everything, to glorify Himself! Hallelujah!

I'm so glad you were encouraged! God's timing is not our own, and we have to learn to be patient and wait on Him, because He WILL provide whatever our needs!

"That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life- whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing?... So don't worry about these things, saying 'What will we eat? What will we eat? What will we wear?' These things dominate the minds of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." Matthew 6: 25,31-33

I remember when we were first married and my husband got very sick...he was in the hospital for 18 days and couldn't work for 3 months. God provided in amazing ways during this time!!!

Our family came alongside of us and took care of all of our bills and living expenses for the entire time Michael was out of work.

We are so thankful for how God provided for us during that difficult time!!!

I think in the midst of deep pain it is very hard to recognize if you are being provided for.  Personally speaking I really had no idea what pain, yearning, anger, and a whole bunch of other messy emotions where until my child died.  I know I still struggle with finding something positive in my situation, but and it is a big but - I have faith, and I know I will see my son again, and those two simple truths I hold dear.

Lisa, sometimes life is so hard. I am sorry for your loss. I love how your faith continues to be strong! God is the only true thing that is never failing or changing!

I can always trust in Him, even when life here on earth is difficult and heart wrenching.

I will be praying for you!
