Can we talk about photography?

I see so many amazing photographer SITS Girls, and I'd love to hear their tips and tricks. I recently invested in a Nikon D5000 and really have no idea what I'm doing or what to buy to go with the initial kit. My husband picked up a Nikkor 55-200 lens, so I've got that as well.

From what I've read, I need a better flash than the little pop up one on the camera...

I have no clue about the settings or any of that.

It sounds like you've got enough to make a really good start. I'd try out what you've got and once you work out what you like you can get more stuff. Maybe you love taking portraits or close ups or wildlife- then you can work out what else to buy.
