What Niche Blog Do You Gravitate Towards?

Started by Candice , author of Fashionably Organized 9/1/2010 11:22:40 AM

I'll admit that my blog's niche is mainly organization tips and product reviews.  I also rely heavily on DIY projects and crafting.  I have a Fashion Friday (b/c I love beauty products and accessories), but right now it is in it's beta testing to see how it goes over.

My question to you is what do you gravitate toward when you add to your Google Reader (or the like)?

I gravitate toward a lot of DIY and craft blogs.  I do read a few parenting ones, but most of which are friends and not anything I've searched for.  It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I tend to keep up more with the DIY and craft blogs.

I'm curious to see if you stay in your niche per se or venture out.

I'm definitely with you: craft, diy, etsy.  Although I'm always trying to branch out into graphic design, interiors, gardening, product development, web design, cooking, photography- it's more a reflection of all of my interests.  It's a challenge then, for me, to reflect all of my interests into my own blog.

Holy crap, I do everything.  In my reader you'll find fashion, food, mom blogs, relationships/marriage, sex, photography, and the likes.

I like to see what's out there, and in turn, sometimes they give me great inspiration!

I'm with housewife blogger, I'm a little bit of everything.  I like to ready about ladies with kids (even though I have none), weight loss (already achieved their goal or in the process like me), photography, relationships, christian values blogs, etc.  I can usually come across a blog and know in a post or two whether I'll keep coming back.

Usually I am looking at crafting blogs, or art blogs!

I don't know if I gravitate to just one type of blog.  I don't want to offend anyone, but I usually don't read review blogs.  Not there is anything wrong with those types of blogs, but the ones I've come across are usually reviewing items that don't apply to me, but I read a little bit of everything else...even the baby/young children blogs.  I love to look at all the pictures...it brings back so many memories of when mine were young.

I blog in three niches: food, the home we're building, and marriage. So usually I read blogs in those niches.

I tend to read a variety of different blogs.  I also write about a variety of subjects. I even read DIY blogs - though I can never actually do it myself.  I'm just inspired by others and their creations!

I tend to read with a purpose so to speak...My niche is lifestyle/parenting but sometimes I am feeling one way or another so it might be DIY, Design, Parenting, and my personal favorite, Blogging tips! :-) I like to have choices.

OH but the most important thing is sincerity. If I like the blogger's voice and it seems authentic, I am much more likely to stick around.

I definately gravitate towards funny mommy bloggers.  I'm up to my elbows in diapers and poo right now, so if someone is blogging about parenting, and they make me laugh when they do it, they'll have a follower for life!
