Do You Like To Read?

Started by ULoseIWinIWin 9/1/2010 9:39:02 AM

A lot of us read blogs everyday and it seems like book reading is not popular anymore. Why do you prefer blogs over books? Don't you think reading makes you a better writer?

I LOVE to read books, blogs, anything.  That is what my blog is about, reading.  I am not a great writer as my blog shows LOL.   I am not a professional writer or reviewer so I just let the words flow and not worry too much about it.  I do want to learn to write a better review someday.

I ready blogs more for information and inspiration.  But it doesn't interfere with my book reading at all.  I really believe like everything else, there has to be a balance.

Right now I read more blogs than I do books.  I find that no matter what I read (books, blogs, newspaper, magazines) it inspires me to write and to share.

I read more books than I do blogs. Blogs are great but honestly? It's not really educational. It kind of is but I can't say there are blog posts that I think back a year later and remember. Books though...I remember those. And I do believe good writers are good readers. Not necessarily the other way around. :) Plus...books are fun. You can jump into a world that isn't your own and check out of yours for awhile.

I agree with you that many people are into reading blogs about all kinds of things but they refuse to pick up a book.  I love to read and always have.I remember getting so excited about the school book fairs that they used to have. I wonder do school still have those. I'm a closet nerd and love to receive new books. I am very fortunate to have a daughter who also enjoys reading (well..listening since she is only 2)

I don't prefer blogs over books, however, blogs are definitely easier to come by. Books are so expensive and I can typically go through a good book in 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on skill level. I also love learning more about parenting and how other moms do things by reading other mom blogs.

I enjoy blogs b/c I am able to read about other peoples experiences.

I do spend 10 times long reading books than I do reading blogs. I love immersing myself into alternate universes filled with vampires, werewolves, and faeries. These are all things I cannot get online.

I love to read both, but it just seems easier to read blogs especially when you are nowhere having a book around.

I read both.  I still love books.  I read blogs for entertainment, inspiration and to connect with others through common interests.  I probably spend more time reading blogs (my husband would say), but both have a place in my world.

I read both. Summer fopr some reason always inspires me to read. But on the other hand blogs, wow really intersting and inspirational stuff!
