S'more Breakfast Rolls

Started by kim , author of Todays Creative Blog 1/15/2012 11:00:10 PM
My son was ecstatic when I told him I needed to "make up" a recipe using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. He LOVES Pillsbury Crescent Rolls.  Within seconds he had it all figured out what "we" should do.  Being a good mom, I decided to use this moment to build his self esteem and possibly throw my chances of winning to the side.  Not that he doesn't have great ideas, but he's 12.......you know it's going to involve sugar!
He gathered all the ingredients and got started at building his S'more Breakfast Rolls.

Pillsbury S'More Breakfast Crescent Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 roll of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 chocolate candy melts or chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
  • 1 graham cracker - crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Separate each triangle.  Sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon sugar to cover the full triangle of Pillsbury dough.   Place 2 or 3 mini marshmallows and 3 to 4 chocolate chips (or one candy melt) with a 1/2 teaspoon of crushed graham cracker at the wide end of the triangle. Gently roll into your crescent roll shape.  Gently roll into your crescent roll shape.  Bake as directed, 10-12 minutes.  While the rolls are baking, melt butter.  Add cinnamon sugar to melted butter.  When rolls are golden brown and finished baking, brush your butter cinnamon mixture over each roll.  Make plenty, because everyone will want S'more!

Enjoy!

I make rings like they did back in the day with Pampered Chef baking stones with chicken and cream cheese or ham and cheese. We also make poor mans cinnamon rolls where we roll a marshmallow in butter dip it in cinnamon and sugar and then wrap it in a crescent roll. So yummy.

Beckie, I remember those PC rings.  So yummy.  I've never heard of the poor mans cinnamon rolls, but it sound very similar to what my son created.

Oh My! It's like you read my mind! Last night I found the most genius thing - Pillsbury Crescent sheets. An uncut rectangle of crescent yumminess, and I made the most adorable cinnamon rolls. In like 10 minutes! They're so cool I'm going to blog about them. And maybe I'll marry them too b/c I love them so much. ;-) With the regular crescents, I mainly use them to make an enchilada ring when I want the flavors of enchilada but don't want to do all the work.
