Inappropriate Blog Comments? What to do? When to worry?

Do any of you ever get 'inappropriate' comments on your blog? I'm pretty new to this, and I haven't had any so far until today. The comment was not mean in any way, but it made me feel uncomfortable because the user's name had "cadaver" in it. He said:

"I cannot wait to see you Upstairs in Heaven Above. You're gorgeous now, without a doubt; but, alas, you'll be beyond stunning so I'll gave to shield my eyes. Love you. See ya soon."

The looks comment and the "see you soon" comment freaked me out a little. Is this normal to expect when blogging and I'm just over-reacting or should I be concerned.

That sounds creepy. You can delete the comment for sure. Is this person a follower? You should be able to block him if he is.

I've never dealt with anything like this- yikes!

That is beyond creepy, for sure. I always moderate my comments since people do sometimes leave odd statements that do not even pertain to the blog post. I've had plenty of spammy type comments with links to other sites but never anything as strange as that. Was his name linked back to his blog or site and if so what did you find out about him and his interests? Or should I be afraid to ask? Hope he's moved on and won't annoy you anymore..

A lot of those comments are actually generated from spam type web sites - delete, move on. Definately get a stat counter installed - let's you see WHO is viewing your blog and how often!!!
