I polled my FB fan page & Twitter - what say you? What are your best, beat-the-heat summer recipes? I'm in a slump & could use some inspiration. Planning an upcoming post, too :)

Our first summer in the new house here in Texas, and I'm going batty. I don't know the area well, I don't know where to find out any info about clubs, or classes, or soccer/football camps. Hubby is back at work full-time, commutes a 1/2 hour away, isn't back 'til dinner, and it's so blazing hot we often don't leave the house in the afternoons, which often-times mean we don't leave until evenings if at all. Help! Any tips to surviving the next 5 weeks?

For an humorous upcoming post, tell me, what's one thing (or more) people never forewarned you about when you became a parent?

I'm looking for ideas - one month into school, and my kids are already bored. Currently, we pack a sandwich, string cheese, raisins, fruit cup, granola bar, peanut butter crackers & a drink. We switch it up for chips, an apple or grapes by swapping out something and substituting, but they're burnt out already.

What do YOU pack? And what do your kids absolutely love?

I know you think I'm crazy, but it IS coming! You've probably noticed costumes already being put out and sold. It's probably best to have the costume talk with your kids soon, so that you aren't left scrambling after costumes are sold out.

So, do you purchase costumes, or make 'em? What has been your favorite costumes for your children? Did you have a favorite as a child?

Oh my gosh, how can you? Is it possible to need a vacation after vacation? It's like we never left, only now there is so much more to do because the kids start school tomorrow. Yikes!

What do you do to decompress after being away for so long?

Have you traveled anywhere this summer yet?

Are you feeling the effects of having all the kids home this summer, and looking forward to school starting (and, if you're like me, feeling guilty about it)?

Hello, my name is Kelly, and I am a single mom to an absolutely gorgeous 4 yr old little girl (not that I'm biased or anything). And I mean she is beautiful form the inside out! Definitely the joy of my life! I enjoy everything creative, but also have a more scientific side (I am a forester by trade, though just graduated from Natural Resources Law Enforcement) maybe because I am a gemini my two sides pull at one another?!?!?!

	My blogs are:
