What Keeps You From Exercising?

Started by cammy , author of The Tippy Toe Diet 6/14/2010 5:10:53 PM

I'm celebrating three years of strength training today (yay, me!), and I'm trying to remember why I never seemed to be able to build an exercise habit before then.  So far I've come up with the following:

  •  I was 100 pounds overweight and exercise was HARD.
  • I would look silly.
  • I didn't have time.
  • I didn't know what to do exactly.

I'm sure there were other reasons, but those are the ones that surfaced first.

Now I'm curious as to whether others had/have similar reasons, or if there were/are different excuses  things that get in the way of exercise.

How funny I ran across this!  First congrats on   your success!  I am so jealous!  What keeps me from exercising?

Well--everything!  And they are excuses as I know better.

Exercise is HARD, it hurts, it's time consuming (LOL! as I sit here on the computer walllowing in self pity and denial)  I don't want to look stupid-god forbid someone see my flabby unccordinated body moving.  I love my sofa. I have a bad cold. Ummm, guess I could go on forever,

Funny thing is when I do manage to drag my butt out of the chair or off the sofa and exercise--it makes me feel good.  Maybe, I should focus on that!  What a revolution!

Thanks!

That's exactly it, Candi! Think about how it feels after exercising (the ahhhh part, not the sweaty, stinky part.) Some days that's all that gets me to the gym. :)

Thanks for joining my community! I'm looking forward to checking out your blog!
