Do You Take Vitamins?

Do you take Vitamins?

Why?  Why Not?

I just posted a short vlog about my 14th goal for this year which is taking vitamins more consistently.  What are your thoughts on this topic?

So I want to take vitamins but I don't like I should.  I need like a monthly injection form.  haha I know a shot over a pill (seriously any day)  I hate  to take pills of any kind!

Now I know you hate to take pills if you're willing to take a shot over swallowing them!

Ooooo!  I feel light-headed just talking about a needle!

You and my hubby.  Shots don't bother me.  Don't draw my blood but give me a shot any day haha!  I know I am sick it's okay as long as I know right?

I take a pretty substantial multi-vitamin everyday--and over the years have added calcium and Omega supplements.  Recently I was diagnosed as being low in Vitamin D--which really shocked me because I live in SoCal and am outside a lot.  Vitamin D is really important and I would highly recommend getting levels tested at your next doctor's visit and taking supplements (the 400 IU is way too low!) if necessary.

I take multi-vitamins every day. In Dec I realized that I needed to do something to become more financially independent so I researched Herbalife, got started on the products and loved the way I felt, so now I'm a new distributor. My son was overweight by about 40 lbs and he started on the weight loss January 17th and as of this Monday he is down 30 lbs.

Sorry off topic here.  So, my teenage son and I both take multi-vitamins and a few other supplements to boost metabolism and help with cellular nutrition.  We both have much more energy and feel better all around.

Yes to vitamins, but you also need to think about how you are absorbing them.  I just read a WebMD report about taking more vitamin D....more than you'd think.  Doctors recommend you take vita D with your largest meal. And the older you are, the more D you should take.

Speaking of 'older', if you're over 40, it's been recommended you take an 'enzyme' pill that helps digest and absorb the vitamins or even what you eat. Have you ever had that 'I can't digest this' feeling after eating too much of one thing?  I noticed it around that age because I sometimes over ate honeydew or canteloupe....bloating and ..well you know.  I didn't have enough of the enzyme needed to digest the fruit.

Right,...don't over eat.  I agree.  But as you age you lose the ability to make the enzymes like you used to also. A doctor introduced me to enzymes in pill form, not as a prescription.  You can find them at the vitamin chain stores.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone!  Aron - maybe I'm blind...but I couldn't find your blog, just a website for vitamins.

A healthy balanced diet made up of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and proteins should provide everything you need right? Maybe not. I take vitamins because I want to add vitamin and mineral supplements to my daily health care routine.

I take a women's multi-vitamin, 3500 IU's of Vitamin D, and a Whole Foods Be Well Herbal Immune Supplement when I feel like I'm run down or coming down with something... it's total magic!!!  BW has everthing in it - Magic!   :)
