Yes to vitamins, but you also need to think about how you are absorbing them. I just read a WebMD report about taking more vitamin D....more than you'd think. Doctors recommend you take vita D with your largest meal. And the older you are, the more D you should take.
Speaking of 'older', if you're over 40, it's been recommended you take an 'enzyme' pill that helps digest and absorb the vitamins or even what you eat. Have you ever had that 'I can't digest this' feeling after eating too much of one thing? I noticed it around that age because I sometimes over ate honeydew or canteloupe....bloating and ..well you know. I didn't have enough of the enzyme needed to digest the fruit.
Right,...don't over eat. I agree. But as you age you lose the ability to make the enzymes like you used to also. A doctor introduced me to enzymes in pill form, not as a prescription. You can find them at the vitamin chain stores.
