What do you enjoy most about being a mom? Is it what you expected? And if you aren't a mom, what is something that you love about your own mother?

The best thing about being a Mom?  Well, kids don't normally like me.  I'm just not that kind of gal.  (And hey, let's be honest...sometimes the feeling is mutual)  But from the second I had my son, and now my daughter...they think everything I do is THE BOMB.  I always do it the right way for them.  (poor things don't know any different)  But that built in love, how they like me instantly, it's kind of priceless.

Not a Mother (yet!), but I love that my mom can also be my best friend.  She raised me in trust and love.

Right now I love that sibling relationship develop.  I wanted my daughter to have a sibling and she loves her baby brother.  Her baby brother adores her.  They can't wait to see each other in the morning or at the end of the day.  It is so rewarding as a mother to watch that happen.

I love to be the parent of 4...especially when we planned on having 2...and fell in love with them and had 2 more.  I love being able to see the legacy of my grandparents through my kids.

I lost my Mom when I was 21 and have pretty much hated Mothers Day ever since.  Now I get to reclaim the day it's pretty cool.

But that's not the best thing about being a Mom.  The BEST thing is the sound of my little girl laughing.  It is my very favorite sound in the world.

As far as what I expected?  NOPE!  I don't think there is any way to understand what being a Mom is like.  I struggled for my miracle baby with the help of a team of professionals -- I pretty much would have done ANYTHING to become a Mom.  I wanted it bad.  Wanting to be a Mom was the most intense feeling of my life.  I knew I would be in love with my kid.  But there was no way to fully understand the absolute all encompassing compelling love that a Mom feels for her little ones.

So cheers to all you Moms, and CHEERS to our kids for filling our hearts!

My kids crack me up!  They may drive me crazy sometimes.  But then they do or say something totally funny and I love it and am over the craziness.

I think my favorite thing about being a mom is the LAUGHTER. I love the sound of little boy laughing, it makes my heart overflow. And they're just so silly and joyful in the little things in life. Life is so very complicated, and can be very hard, but God has infused this world with His goodness - and in my children, I have a daily reminder to stop and just enjoy being. Praise the Lord.

Of course I also get a fair amount of sass, and the "privilege" of being asked 1,085 times a day, "WHY???", but the good stuff balances out the constant noise and dirt, don't you think? :)
