Oh What Do You Do in the Summertime?

Started by Kim , author of Prairie Mama Prairie Mama 6/28/2011 7:00:11 AM

Summer break is in full swing around these parts.  On the last day of school, my daughters (4 & 2) were THRILLED that their big brother was going to be home everyday, all day, to play with them.

They play Legos, dress ups, pirates and vikings.  We go to the sprinkler park, swimming lessons, the gym and have play dates with friends.

They are allowed a couple of hours of "screen time" a day.

But in those quiet moments when everyone is tired from a day full of playing, they read.

Tell me what your kids are reading this summer for a chance to win a Summer Reading Prize Pack from the Children’s Book-of-the-Month Club!

 -  Grand Prize:Pottery Barn Kids’ reading chair and a Marc Jacobs Nylon Tote (for mom!)

Right now it's Mater's Tall Tales in our house. Also some Hello Kitty books I picked up for my 2yo! :)

We have been reading the little house series. I am enjoying these stories just as much as I did as a child!

Right now we're plowing through an old collection of fairy tales -- the real originals; not disney ;) -- from the 60's. It was my mom's and now my girls love it! Soon, though, I hope to get our hands on some Little House on the Prairie! I think my oldest might like them!

Oh! And for the summer reading series answer, I think I'd pick the Ramona books -- I remember loving those! (P.S. Thanks for hosting this! I found you thru Melissa @ PBinmyHair :))
