Reading Through the Entire Bible

Started by The Happy Housewife , author of The Happy Housewife 12/17/2009 7:47:15 AM
Starting January 1, 2010 I am planning on reading through the entire Bible in 90 Days. Has anyone done this before? I am really excited about it. I read through the Bible in a year a few years back, but doing it in 90 days is going to be a big challenge for me.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I would love to do it as well. But I wish it was set up with set readings that could be done with anyones choice of bible, rather then having to buy a "set" bible.

I would love to follow along if I could just get a list of how the readings would coordinate :)

But overall I think it is a great idea. I have been telling myself for the longest time that I would read the bible cover to cover and have yet to do so.

I have never finished the entire Bible (yet!), but I have tried a year-long chronological reading. The link is: http://www.christianbeliefs.org/brs/biblereadingsch-01.html

If you want to use any Bible or adjust the timing, you can just print this out and create your own "schedule". I think I'm going to start up again come January- I have been so busy (and tired!!) with my baby that I haven't read the Word before bed each night like I used to do. I miss it.

Serena-
I will be posting a link (once I get it) do a downloadable bible bookmark that lists out the reading for 90 days. That way you don't have to buy the special bible.

Hi!

Yes...Toni...I have read through the Bible in 90 days.  I did it this summer.  It took me about 30 to 45 minutes a day, but it was a really neat experience.

In trying to develop a new plan for this coming year I did some searching and wrote THIS POST which is full of really good links to Bible Reading Plans that look absolutely wonderful.  Although...I probably am going to stick to this plan and highly doubt I can manage multiple plans.

I hope these links help you out.  I was so excited to find some really good plans options.  Oh!  And as far as the 90 day plan...using the 90 day Bible would definitely be my #1 recommendation just to make it easier to stick to it.  Simple things sometimes make the biggest difference...and if you're keeping track of it all on a sheet of paper and moving around from old to new testament each day...it gets confusing too quickly.

My sister-in-law just linked to a pdf, that outlines the daily readings, for those who do not have or can't afford the Bible in 90 Days.
I'm so excited about this new challenge!

Well, before I delete this again on myself...I found a clearer pdf with the same schedule at http://havenministries.com/schedule.pdf

And I'm also investigating a site that will allow me to set up the schedule online (though I don't intend to read it online), but thought it might be nice for someone who may not have a Bible at all ... it's called http://www.ReadHisWord.com . Just signed in there, but dh just said, "Aren't you ever coming to bed?" soooo I'll have to get back to that in the morning.

Good luck!

I think it took me 90 days just to get through the "begats"

I have read through the entire bible, but I did it in longer stretches of time. The job I worked at really afforded me a lot of time where I was *working* but didn't have to be hands-on anything, so I had hours a day to read.

I'd like to do it again, and I want to check out those links!

I've done it before with the chronological Bible. Quite a thing to do. Our church did that a few years ago. Maybe I'll do it again!!!
Merry Christmas!!!
