As a child grows

Started by Tammy , author of Blessings Abundant 9/1/2009 7:53:46 AM

Being a mom of 3,I have been often scared and amazed at my children as they grow. Scared for their safety and hoping they do ok and remember all they have been taught. Amazed at how awesome they are.

I have watched my sons age almost 17 and 14 go from my little boys to young men. And I couldn't be prouder of them. They are responsible caring young men. Something you sadly don't see often in todays world.

They do well in school and are active in our church and in their school. They know what they want in life and are working hard toward it.

My daughter is a young lady in herself. Opinions and self reliant at times but still holds on to me for assurance when she needs it.

What have you notices as your children grow? Have you seen that self reliant young person peaking out yet? Do you see a little bit of yourself in them?

How awesome is it to see how different our children are no matter how many we have!?

I love watching my children grow up. I especially like the transition from child to teenager, I enjoy talking to my children and hanging out with them. There is still a parent/ child relationship, but it is on a different level.
I do see a lot of me in some of my kids, but they also have a lot of their dad's personality too. It is fun to see them growing up and becoming individuals.
It is my hope that they take more of the good they see in me than the bad...

I have 4 kids! My oldest will be 7 in Oct. and I have a 5 yr old, 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old. It is so amazing to me how different each child is!  I have a sensitive one, one that loves to see how things work, ( yes he has taken things apart to do so), one who loves to pick on you and make you laugh! ( all of the above are boys) and my little girl who is just different than the boys all around :)  I love watching them get older. the milestones that they accomplish. The change in the conversations that we have at different ages.
On of my favorite things is to watch when the actually understand something and to see the excitement in their eyes! That is priceless.

I pray for my children all the time!

Toni,I also hope my children take from me more of the good than the bad. What I see in them is just awesome. My soon to be 17 year old is going to be one  awesome husband and father one of these days.

Stephanie the changes your children will go through in the next few years is going to really amaze you.

Kids are just awesome and I thank God every day for mine.
