Happy New Year everyone!  I am hitting the gym hard again.  I am determined loose a few pounds before we decide to have another baby.

I'm on the hunt for some good workout music.  Do you have any suggestions?

Music that I would never "proclaim" to listen to for pleasure, I enjoy working out (ie any pop music with a good beat that hits the top of the charts for three weeks before fading into oblivion). My personal favorite is something like Black Eyed Peas...

Do you ever listen to Pandora? That is one of my favorite ways to discover music that I might like that I just don't know about yet.

Some songs on my training mix right now Shakira "Give It up to Me" Lots of Black Eyed Peas.  One song I have been working out to since college "Cotton Eyed Joe" by Rednex I know it is ridiculous but something about that song makes me really MOVE. Another good one is Funkytown from the Shrek 2 soundtrack and one I just added last night Dig a Little Deeper from the Princess and the Frog soundtrack...nothing like some good gospel music to get you inspired.

Ashley & Brandie- thank you so much for the recommendations!  I've been listening to Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas all week as I work out.  A couple others I added to my list:

- Jump (featuring Nelly Furtado) by Flo Rida
- Glamorous by Fergie
- SexyBack (featuring Timbaland) by Justin Timberlake
- Thnks Fr Th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy
- Faint by Linkin Park

I testify that good music helps a good workout!  wOOt!

here are some songs that are on my workout mix:

wavin' flag by k'naan
great dj by the ting tings
heads will roll by yeah yeah yeahs
harder, better, faster, stronger by daft punk
seven nation army by the white stripes
heavy metal drummer by wilco

Sadness, I'm going to get back into the gym tonight too! I've been milking the no-working out excuse since my last surgery, but I am officially out of excuses! I know I'll be excited once I really get back into it, it's just the getting there that always seems like a struggle after a long time off!

My workout ipod has a lot of Dirtie Blonde (pop-y fun... I really like Shut Up), Kate Nash, Pink (I have a secret obsession with Pink, I just think she's fabulous!), Paramore (always get's me bouncing around), The Shins, Black Eyed Peas, The Veronicas, and Lady GaGa

A lot of pop, perfect to get my butt in gear! Good luck!

i love loud, dance type music that i recognize but never know the name of.

i think Zumba is fun but it takes a while to learn the choreography in order to really get my heart rate up.

i love the song "Low" in Zumba.  "Hit You With My Pocketbook" (don't even know if that's its name) and probably 30 others y'all would recognize but I don't know the names of !

Now that was helpful, wasn't it?!

Jeannie, I use the song "Low" in my kickboxing class and LOVE it.  I'm also loving "Let it Rock" by Kevin Rudlof, anything Brittany Spears (Which I would not be caught dead listening to otherwise) Black Eyed Peas and Stronger by Kayane West.

And Deb, I'm totally with you--music can make or break your workout.
