Do you use the 3 second rule with your kids?

Maybe you are not familiar with this. I'll explain. When I was a kid if food dropped on the floor we would eat it as long as it wasn't there longer than three seconds. Most people automatically throw the food in the trash if it falls on the floor. What do you do? Do you let your kids eat food off the floor or do you throw it away?

We have a limited budget and as my family continues to grow and grocery store prices go up it is getting harder and harder to put food on the table. So if one of my kids drops food on the floor and then eats it I don't say anything. I just let it happen.  Although, if I find food on the floor then I throw it away. What do you do?

I go with the 10 second rule all the time!!  And if I'm not fast enough to sweep up the leftovers, the triplets will often go for the hour rule....GROSS!  Guess that's how they grow their immunity?!!

We go by the "eat it before the doge gets it rule" :)

haha Shmonae that's funny. I actually said that recently too. For me it depends on the food that is dropped. a chip, eat it..slice of cheese , no way. it'll be covered in animal hair or dust..we have all tile in our home.

lol! It depends what kind of food it is...a piece of bread? It's ok...soup? no way! and how old is the kid. Actually we said what doesn't kills you makes you fat!

true--it does depend on the kind of food.  But if it's not dirty then I let them eat it.
