Family Fun in Utah?

Started by Laurie , author of Tip Junkie — Find and Share Tips and Creative Ideas 6/15/2010 2:26:47 PM

I'm going to be in Utah with my family for two weeks starting next week and I love some family fun suggestions.

I have Lagoon and Timpanogos Caves on the docket but that's all I know about.

The Hogle Zoo is fun. There are also a ton of National Parks here. They are all in southern Utah though.

We always love the Dinsosaur National Monument!  That's a fun place!

Wandering around Temple Square is also always fun!  Especially in the nice weather!!

Wheeler Farm, Gardner Village (always fun for shopping), Gateway (another good one for shopping), This is the Place State Park, and Park City is a blast. We go up to Park City to the Olympic Park and watch the aerialists in the summer and our kids love it! Ziplines, outlets, and alpine slides are up there too. You could spend a whole fun day up there. It's one of our favorite places to visit! Hope that helps.

Park City is a lot of fun too.

Also a huge fan of Gateway Mall!  My family hits up that mall when we go to Temple Square!  Love the Speghetti Factory there!

- bobsled in Olympic center

Coalville and Kamas (hiking)

Tip Cave (reserve tickets & take sweat shirts)

Float Provo river

Temple square - childrens museum

Tour behive house

Sweets candy factory tour

City creek canyon

*Hike ensine peek (above capitol - temple ceremony) by carol maloone house

* Pioneer village at base of immigration canyon (like nauvoo)

* Kennecot copper mine (see from moon -make reservation - wear scout uniform and get patch)

Sandy city center - concerts (google concerts in salt lake and park city)

Hi Laurie!  I lived in Utah for over 20 years and one of the most beautiful outdoor places (which is right in the heart of SLC) is Red Butte Gardens.  They are beautiful gardens which are located on the University of Utah campus... absolutely gorgeous with tons of red sand and cool plants/flowers.  This is an *amazing* place to be to watch the sunset because it's nestled in the east hills of Salt Lake and gives you a perfect view of the sun setting in the west over the entire city and the Great Salt Lake.

Have fun!!

Wow there are things on your list I didn't even know about!  I am more excited to live here.  So are you going to try to get together with blogging friends too while you are here.  That might be fun.  Let us know!
