How much traffic did/should you get before you considered monetizing your blog?

Started by Dinah , author of DIY Inspired 5/6/2012 10:07:22 PM

I often have friends ask me questions on how to start blogging and how to make money doing it.  I've done searches on this topic (how much traffic is ideal for advertising), but the results I've found are from 2009 (too old).  Just wanted to get some opinions out their from fellow bloggers!  Any advice? Things you've learned or wish you did differently before advertising? Thanks a bunch!

I've read 700/day, but it seems like you would need more than that?

i cannot claim to be an expert on drawing traffic to your web/blogs. Mine gets attention and I know that from the hits that show up on my counter stats but somehow they do not follow through to the end results of actually signing up for a consulting session.

Many people are going through financial re-evaluation right now and many are puling back from spending even if they know they could use some advise from me or benefit from encouragement. If an individual feels their financial future is uncertain, the common sense response is to pull back.

The bottom line is that we are all having to spend more wisely what we do have coming in as income. That is the reality for all of us!

Hi Judith! Thank you so much for commenting! Have you considered using Google Analytics? It's a free tool and will show you every detail of how, where, and when your traffic comes.  Try it out! Here's a link: http://www.google.com/analytics/ I check my stats every day!
