Oh I forgot to ask what verison of  open office portable do I down load?

Hi Theresa.  Here is the link for the Open Office.org Portable that I downloaded for free

http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable

You may want to have around 13 pages at least.  As far as how many chapters you should have, I would say at least 6.  After you download open office portable and start typing in the typing up your book, you will see that it will not take long to fill up your pages.  I would say that a typical hub or article that you write may fill up one page.  On the other hand if you upload your pdf file on the open office portable you will need at least 32 pages for a paperback book to publish on createspace.  All you have to do is save your content on the open office portable and add more content and then upload it again.

Let me know if you need more help or have any more questions.

Thanks Alicia this is a big help. Stilling about what I will write about first. I am thinking couponing. Do you think there to many out for me to do one.

I don't think so.  I think that you are unique and can offer valuable content and information as well as tips for others.  I know you should do it.  I had doubts wondering if I would have a voice and I am so glad that I decided to act and go forward with my book.  It was a good decision.  You really have nothing to lose but a little time.  You will definitely sell some books for sure!  I guarantee you.

Theresa-thx for posting this question.

and

Alicia- thx for answering it in such detail.  I am contemplating writing an ebook but usually what stops me is the resources to do it.

:-)

I am starting to compile all my info so I can get started. I cant wait

Okay I have a mac and was wondering if there is any free things for writing ebooks?

Hi everyone.  This answer will be directed to Allie.  You do not have to spend any money whatsoever to write and self-publish your own ebook or book for that matter.  Everything I did was free and it is listed on Amazon.com right now.  You can do it.  I did it and now I just wished that I wouldn't have waited so long to do it.  You simply write your book, add pictures if you want to, download it, go to Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and fill out your information.  They will assign you your own unique isbn number for your book for free and then you upload your file.  You price it for whatever you want to sell it for.  You will earn 70% of the price of your book in royalties.  I am going to write another book very soon.  I am also going to write an article on what I did to write my ebook for free in just a few days.  I will post the link here for you all to read.  If you need more info, please let me know.

Hi Candice.  Everything I did was free.  Here are the free tools to write your own ebook and publish it online.

First download this file for free to your computer.  It has everything you need to write your book including any affiliate links you want to include and so on.

http://portable-openoffice-org.en.softonic.com/

After you have written your book including your title, table on contents, etc. you will want to save your document in a pdf form or doc, docx, etc.  Amazon will tell you if it is not uploaded in the correct format and you can go to your open office portable and save it again in the correct format.

You will next want to go to Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and sign up for a free publisher account.

https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/signin

Upload your book and it will be ready to sell in and be live on Amazon.com in about 3 days.  You can also upload your book to Createspace which is a partner of Amazon for a paperback version of your book and sell it for free as well.  They have free book covers for you to choose from and everything.  You set your own prices for your books.  I did this over a weekend.  You can do it too!  In your ebook and book you can direct your readers to go to your blog for more traffic.  You can also use upload n' sell to sell your book directly on your website or blog for people to buy by uploading your ebook file in pdf and put in your paypal email address and they will handle the entire transaction for you for free.

Here are the links for createspace and upload n sell

I hope this is helpful and answers your question.  If not, just let me know.smiley
