Socks and Gloves - where do they go?

We have a little drying rack for wet gloves by the front door and one by the back door.  The idea is that when anyone comes into the house with wet gloves they can take them off right there and leave them to dry for the next adventure outside.

After they dry they all go into a basket by the door.  But this last week we emptied the glove basket and found only left handed gloves.  WHAT?  How does that happen?
