Share your story. Tell us about your wedding, the wedding you are planning or just something about who you are.

Carly has shared so many of our beautiful wedding and engagement photos and I find myself thinking I wish I know more about the couple in the pictures...this is our chance.

I live in Northeast Ohio with my Hubby, Darrin, and our fur babies and I have a grown son, Brandon. I enjoy spending time in our beautiful garden and hanging out by the pool. However, we get away to Disney World as often as we can.

From the start, we have been a Disney couple; our first date was at Walt Disney World. We became engaged at Disney, well kind of… He actually proposed at the Orlando International Airport’s parking deck. His nerves got the better of him and he couldn’t wait. His original plan was to propose on Sunset Point at the Polynesian Resort during the 4thof July fireworks that evening. The next day we went over to Disney’s Wedding Pavilion and knew that is where we wanted to get married.

We worked with Diane L Bowen from Disney Fairy Tale Weddings to plan our October 2, 2008 wedding. The ceremony was at the Wedding Pavilion followed by cocktails, dinner, and dancing at Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s California Grill’s Napa and Sonoma Rooms.

Rev. Randal Miller of Uniquely United was our efficient. Choosing an efficient was one of most stressful aspect of the planning for me. I had the list of preferred venders from Disney, but knew no one with first hand knowledge of any one on the list. I searched the names on the list on line, but still felt unsure. We thought of having a friend get accredited on line and perform the ceremony for us. In the end we decided on Rev. Miller 1. because my Husband recognized a baseball player in the photos on his web page and 2. I thought he was handsome and would, if nothing else, look good in our photos. I know not the best reasons! After all this is the person that can make or break our day! We lucked out! Rev. Miller was terrific. Three days before our wedding my Father in Law passed away.  It was very emotional and stressful for both Darrin and me. We were not even sure we should go ahead with the wedding. Darrin’s dad wanted to be with us in Disney World for the wedding and when his heath had took a turn about six months before we knew that it was impossible. He told us then that he did not want us to change our plans and so we decided that he was now with us. Rev. Miller was so understanding and kind to us and our emotional turmoil. Before Darrin and I walked down the aisle he said a few words for Darrin’s Dad and had a moment of silence. We did not get to hear it, but our guest said it was beautiful.

Ty Boyce was our photographer. No stress here, Diane told us about Ty’s work at our first planning session, I searched him online, was impressed by his work and that was that! He lived up to everything I wanted of him. The only regret is that we did not book a longer photo package.

We wanted our reception to be at the California Grill because we love the view of the castle and the fireworks from the 15thfloor of the Contemporary and the food is always awesome. We ran into some trouble with the room size. Our guest count was only 45 and the Napa Room can accommodate 50, but 5 tables leaves no room for dancing. Working with Diane we came up with the idea to use the Sonoma room (the smaller of the two and overlooking Bay Lake) for cocktails then announce dinner in the Napa Room and after dinner and the fireworks return to Sonoma to dance the night away! It was the first time Disney had used both room this way, but the timing worked out great and as our guest returned from watching the fire works on the rooftop walkway Mickey and Minnie was there to greet us!

I work as a wedding coordinator and floral designer, so I did what I tell every bride they should NOT do! I did most of the work myself. I designed and created all my wedding stationary, invitations, escort cards, and table markers. I made floral centerpieces of velvet red roses and lined the aisle with silk rose petals. I designed our cake and turned it over to the fabulous staff at Disney’s Grand Floridian Bakery to bring to life. I created all the bouquets in my room at the Polynesian with fresh flowers delivered to the resort from fiftyflowers.com and then to top it off I did my own hair and makeup! Can you say control freak?

It turned out to be an awesome day and we would change very little. Our guests had a “MAGICAL” experience and are still talking about it.

Hiya! I'm Claire, my DH is Mike, we live in England near London, we got married in Dececember 2009 at the WP, we had an Escape wedding but added a private reception at the GF in the Key West Room and had a DP at Sago Cay. Here is the link to my spotlight on Carly's blog:

http://www.disneyweddingblog.com/2010/08/wedding-spotlight-claire-mike.html

I used Randy as my photographer, and STVS to film it. Rev Knox was the offiant and Ana from Beaute Speciale did my hair and make up.

We've been to WDW 4 times. DLRP once which is where DH proposed. Disneyland twice and on one Disney cruise.

Robyn.. how crazy. My wedding planner is Diane Bowen, I'm getting married at the Wedding Pavilion and my reception is at the California Grill as well! Freaky!!! So glad everything turned out well!  My wedding is on December 10, and I am so excited!

We have about 80 guests, so we actually have to have the reception inside of the restaurant because the Napa and Sonoma rooms were too small.  I picked the California Grill for the exact same reason as you.

Hey Disney Brides & Grooms!

My name is Michelle Harris. I am 23 years old & live in New Orleans, born & raised here. Our food is YUMMY! Our culture is FUN!

I have been a die-hard Disney fan ever since I was born. My first words spoken/sung were the lyrics to the "Mickey Mouse March" song..even before my own name or mama or daddy. I have been going to Disney World since I was 6 months old - every year, sometimes several times a year. I was bottle-fed on rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean & grew up in the parks. Disney World is my 2nd home. I've been to Disneyland twice but it's been years. I plan to go back very soon!

In June 2009 I got engaged in front of Cinderella's Castle during the "Wishes!" fireworks show. On June 3, 2011 I got married at the Swan & Dolphin! I am ecstatic to have found my soulmate, Russell, & as a bonus he is a Disney lover as well. I've always dreamed of a Disney wedding, but never thought I'd have such an incredible Disney proposal too. Our Disney wedding definitely exceeded anything we've ever imagined.

I am a full-time student at the University of New Orleans studying Biology & Event Planning. I love working with animals studying Conversation Biology. I have completed 2 internships at Audubon Nature Institute through Audubon Zoo & Audubon Aquarium - Louisiana Marine Mammal & Sea Turtle Stranding Rescue Program. I've had the opportunity to work with white tigers, lions, African elephants, sharks, white alligators, & dolphins. I even had the chance to rescue a stranded dolphin on the beach & rehabilitate it, as well as oiled sea turtles. Helping animals is so rewarding to me & I love learning something new everyday.

I work for Radio Disney in New Orleans. It's such a fun "job" & I am able to plan events from start to finish. Being able to bring just a little bit of the Disney magic to children in New Orleans is awesome. Especially knowing that a lot of these kids may never make it to Disney World.

I am also a Wedding Planner in New Orleans. I absolutely love attention to detail & being able to see the finished product - the bride & groom's 1st kiss, their 1st dance, or little happy emotional moments between family members & friends - makes me so very happy!

I had the time of my life planning my own Disney wedding & did TONS of research to make it exactly the way we wanted it! Our ceremony was on the beach at the Swan Resort. Our reception was at Bluezoo in the Dolphin Resort. After our reception we took the ferry into the back entrance of Epcot where we celebrated around the world & made our way into Future World. And to top off the day long celebration we went to Magic Kingdom till 2am with more family & friends! We chose GoNorth Films as our videographer & Jennifer Werneth Photography. Ron Rosenzweig was our officiant. Karen at JustMarry! was our amazing wedding planner. We chose to have a Swan & Dolphin wedding because it was so affordable & allowed the flexibility we wanted. We had no issues in choosing our outside vendors or meeting any minimum requirements.

Russell & I are moving to Orlando, Florida in about 2 years after we graduate college. Russell plans on moving forward with his career in Biology & Film. I plan on moving forward with my career in Event Planning, Biology, & Radio Disney Orlando! We cannot wait to be living in Florida & plan on having a few Disney babies in the near future!

I am so looking forward to helping any of you as your Swan & Dolphin Disney Weddings Mentor! I love hearing your stories, seeing your pictures & videos, & getting to know each of you!

Hi Robyn, Claire, Brittany and Michelle!

It's nice to "meet you". wink

I've known Carly for a few years now since we were both planning our Disney Weddings around the same time. My husband and I just got married last year at the Disneyland resort after a lengthy engagement!  He proposed to me at Disneyland in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle under "snowfall". We love it there so much so there's no place else we could think of to host our most magical day!heart

Carly blogged our pictures last year: http://www.disneyweddingblog.com/2010/10/wedding-spotlight-hope-mike.html

In a nut-shell, we had a Sleeping beauty inspired wedding, had Mickey and Minnie at the reception, had an in-park photo session the morning of our wedding and had the Disneyland Main Street Fire Engine for my grand arrival and departure. I look forward to helping future Disney brides plan their day and if anyone planning a Disneyland wedding needs vendor recommendations I can help out.

I see some friends from other planning forums are here already and I can't wait to meet and make new connections. yessmiley

Hey guys!

My name is Sharon. I wasn't a Disney bride. But I did get to honeymoon at WDW. The only Disney accents I had at my wedding were my Mickey headband and the last song that played at the reception was the ending to Wishes with Jiminy Cricket wishing everyone a good night.

I am also one of the Disney Wedding Mentors. I am looking forward to helping out everyone that I can.

Currently I live in Florida about 20 minutes away from Animal Kingdom (depending on traffic) and I work for Mr. Mouse himself.

My name is Roberta and I am the WDW Staying Off-Property mentor. I am also a DFTW Memories Collection bride to be (10/8/11) so I am very happy to be part of this group. If anyone has any questions about staying off property (including the non-Disney WDW Swan & Dolphin which is technically on property) or Memories Collection questions I can help. I've stayed at various off-site hotels in the area and a couple of Disney resorts too so I have a good comparison of the pros and cons of each. When I'm not at the world, I plan my next trip endlessly. A big part of the experience is planning out the next trip: where to stay, what to do and when to go. I guess you could say I'm obsessed (LOL). My favorite Disney movie is the Nightmare Before Christmas and I love all things NBC. I live in Milwaukee with my DF, two Papillons (Jac & Zero) and a cat.

Hello!

My name is Jenn, but I'm also known as one 1/2 of "PB&J". My husband and I were married last year inside Disney California Adventure Park holding our events inside the Animation Building/Hollywood Backlot and had a ride experience on Soarin' Over CA.

We've been very fortunate to be featured on Carly's DWB and on DFTW's official blog site. PB and I were also recently announced as the couple representing "Disneyland" for Disney Fairy Tale Wedding's official ad campaign, "Bringing the Fairytale to Life!" It was literally the most magical experience getting to work with Disney for the campaign (besides the actual wedding, of course!)smiley

I'm so happy to be a part of this forum and to meet other past/present/future Disney brides out there!! I've already got to know a few Disney brides via FB and other Disney bride forums and they're all AMAZING! Take care everyone and hope you all are having a wonderful day so far!

Hello all!

My name is Jessica and I am a "at home" Disney Bride! I have grown up loving Disney, and my dream was to be married at Disneyland however, life had other plans. My husband and I were married in July of this year (a whole 2 weeks after we had our first son) so my husband could join the Air Force. We had been planning our wedding for a bit over a year and it sucks that we are not actually going to be married at our November 19th ceremony, but its still very iportant to both of us to have more than the court room wedding.

So since we could not be married AT Disney, we are bringing the Disney to us! We have hidden mickeys in almost everything in our wedding, from bouquets and centerpieces to my dress and the bottoms of my shoes! I have been working for a very long time (while pregnant and while taking care of my newborn) at pulling together all of my little here and there details. We are beyond excited to see everything pull together. Only 15 days left!

It has been so fun reading this website and seeing everyones beautiful weddings! I hope to get to know all of you better! Thank you for everything in advance! :)
