Resturants... Do you prefer chains or the local cusine?

This is an ongoing debate in our house - whenever we go on trips we usually begin our trip eating at exotic places, trying the foods of the region. Then on the way home we get lazy. Maybe we are too tired to look up places or we are seeking for comfort foods. Anyways, we revert back to the chain restaurants we know.

Where do you prefer to eat while on a trip?
