MY COMMUNITY HALL OF FAMERS

Started by brieflives , author of THEIR LIFE WAS TOO SHORT 5/20/2011 2:01:43 AM

I would just like to thank a couple of people who have been supporting my community over the past few weeks. I was wondering what to do and then the idea came to me last night, of setting up a Hall of Fame for the community.

So the first two people to be given their star ( a hall of famer actually gets their own topic slot in the forum) is.

Karen from http://karenshealthylifestyle.blogspot.com/

and

Diane from http://smoothskinbydiane.blogspot.com/

I just wanted to thank you both for either bring topics for the community and some interesting conversations over the past few weeks.

Hopefully more can be added in the future but for the moment all hail our 2 Hall of Famers.

That seems a great idea, If I had more time and my own blog was more original I would suggest we swapped. I do cheat a little and simply share what I find on other people. When I have done blogs in the past it is so difficult sometimes to come up with new ideas.

I either found myself in the real world saying to myself" That would be good to write about on my blog" Which annoyed my partner as she said it was sad that I didn't just enjoy the moment and not think of it as something I had to rush back and write about.

What I do now is share other peoples thoughts on those who are of interest. Which I do have to catch up on now.

But first the garden it has been neglected for a week and today we have the pond being relined, electrics fixed and hopefully ready to restock next week.

Congrats on the one year, if I had more time I would read more but it is the real world as to why I don't stay on here to long. I can't give up the addiction of blogging and creating new connections and getting the thru traffic but I don't want it to influence my real life too much so I have had to reel it in.

I hope you have many more years to enjoy.

Cleaning ??? I have heard of this activity but what do you mean by it ? :o)

Our lass would laugh, I do half the cooking and all the bigger jobs, and anything technical I pay and get someone in, I am good at my job thus I don't try as an amateur to do building and the like, I get a pro in, a lot of the time it is frustrating to try and get someone bothered to work.

People moan about no work etc, yet people don't seem to want to work for the money, they are great at plucking figures out of the air, but rarely match the figure with work done.

Do you find this to be different in America?

I know what you mean.  I limit myself to a certain amount of time for writing and reading blogs each day.  And I have a certain amount of time I spend on Blog Frog.  My house would never get cleaned otherwise!

Probably be a lot more people calling 999/911 because they can't change an electric plug I guess.

I think the funniest emergency call was this winter when a woman called up the police because someone had stolen her snowman. She was really put out that they wouldn't do anything......

That is what we have to look forward to in the future running the country....

Nope, no difference in America.  I've read a lot of articles that said in the next generation we are going to be in trouble because we aren't going to have people willing to do the "dirty work" like janitors, landscapers, painters, etc.  I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I do hope we have people willing to work hard.  I don't know what we would do if the articles are true.

They played the phone conversation across the news channels. It was funny it seems the woman had been out for a fag only an hour before and it was still there. Then it suddenly vanished "She wouldn't have minded but she had used pound coins (similar worth to a dollar coin if you have one) as buttons."

Why she had used real money as buttons on the snow man I dont know. Why someone would want to nick snowman, as there had been plenty everywhere. Plus the pure logistics of it. It wouldnt have been that easy to do.

The news channels did cut off at the bit where the manager of the emergency station intervened and told the woman off for wasting time.

I could only imagine how hard it would have been to handle that without laughing like crazy.  I feel badly for the woman in a way.  Why would someone steal a snowman?

THANK YOU!  I'm greatly honored!
