comment. No Fejoas are not Guavas. I have a feeling NZ might
be the only place in th world to grow fejoas, this is what they
look like:

is the fruit and the flower before fruiting. They do look
similar to a Guava I guess when you cut them open but they don't
have those hard pips in them. The whole centre is very fleshy and
yummy. I think I might have to put a recipe together and maybe
adapt it so you could use either Guava or Fejoa. Apparently
they are known as the Pinneaple Guava (google research), but never
heard of this term in New Zealand.
