Where Do The Socks Go?

Started by kelli , author of Narragansett No. 7 11/11/2010 11:02:49 PM

What are your theories on the mystery of the missing sock? What do you do with the lonely sock that was left behind? Do you save it and wait for it's partner to reappear?

Kelli, I usually just throw the lone sock away.  Sounds awful doesn't it.  I used to save them, but now I just can't be bothered with a bunch of odds and ends.  You could save the lone sock and make sock puppets out of it.  I have a great book I could tell you about that shows you how to make all kinds of sock animals.

I save them. Forever. We have a drawer filled with lonely socks...maybe it's time to toss them. :)

Why do dryers eat socks? That's an 8th Wonder if I ever saw one.

That's exactly what I do. I have a sock basket in the laundry room. I'm convinced that the moment I throw them away, their mates will magically reappear! ________________________________

Oh, I know the answer to this one! The dryer eats them! I do hang onto the lonely sock for a month or two, hoping the dryer will regurgitate, but it rarely happens. Greedy sock eating dryer.

It's the dryer troll...

he's lonely and no one talks to him..

so he steals the socks...

and then he makes his own friends...

Its so sad....

Now think about it...

have you ever had a button to go missing off of a shirt...

well his puppet friends, needed eyes to see..

poor, poor dryer troll...

He needs friends tooo..

Our dryer trolls name is Fred !

Very funny, ladies!! Oddly enough, our daughter's preschool just posted a request to donate mismatched (clean) socks for the Winter Festival so that the children can make sock puppets.

Perhaps if I make a puppet, throw into the dryer as a sacrifice to the Dryer Troll, he'll regurgitate the rest and we can all move on. :)

I send them to the singles drawer. Hopefully they will mingle and meet their match some day.  *snicker*
