Considering Laser Eye Surgery

Started by Dana @ Bungalow'56 , author of Bungalow'56 1/10/2011 11:01:30 AM

Has anyone had Laser Eye Surgery?  I am constantly taking my glasses off and on to see, and can't see how progressives will really help, as my eyeglass style is quite narrow. I would still end up looking right at the bottom rim.... so.... I am considering Laser eye Surgery.

Any good/bad experiences that will help me make the decision.

I am a big chicken and would have done it long ago if I could be put out for the procedure!

Hi Dana. I am new to blogfrog. But i was adding some people from the class and saw your question. My twin sister just had the surgery done at Christmas.Good results. My advice though would be: there r 2 types of surgeries. The expensive and not so pricey one. Go for the pricier one. It is more customized to your eye perscription. There are more risks with the less expensive one. She had pain for about 6 hours and that was it. Lots of follow up appts though. My youngest sister had it done 15 years ago and pretty much still 20/20 vision. I think my twin will still have to wear reading glasses but near sightedness is 20/20.

Thanks Jeannie,

I just have to start doing some research.  I didn't even know there were two types of laser surgery.  It is definitely something I would not take any short cuts with.

Thanks,

Nice to see another Canadian mom of teens on the block : )
