Has anyone personally tried this site? I was looking around on it the other day and they have $300.00 in gift cards for something like $ 25.00. I went and checked out the restaurant that they have in my area and being that we live really close to metro Atlanta there were a ton and some very nice ones at that. So if you don't mind let me know how it went.

I have bought from them and love it. I have only ever used 1 certificate, but had no problem using it all all. However, they never expire. If the restaurant goes out of business or quits participating, you can trade that certificate for another.

I would offer a few pieces of advice:

Pay attention to the minimum purchase requirement before you decide to buy. A lot of $25 certificates are $35 mp, but some are $50, which is usually too much for me as there are only 2 of us and I would still have to pay at least $25.

Check out the menu and make certain it is a place you want to eat.

Never buy at full price, even though it is usually just $10 for a $25 certificate. They regularly run specials for 60%-90% off. Right now they are offering 70% off with the promo code SNOW, so you can get a $25 certificate for just $3.

The $300 for $25 sounds like a great deal, if you can purchase them in the increments that are best for you.

I have brought at least 10 or 15 certificates from them. There are awesome. I have never had any problems at the restaurants or anyplace. Just be sure to read the fine print about alcohol on the vouchers. Remember also that they all include that 18% gratuity, but its great.

My son used to work as a server, so I know how much tips matter to them. I always try and tip the full 18%, or more, so I don't have an issue with this.

We use them all the time. We live in Gwinnett and they are quite a few restaurants that we like around here. We also use them when we travel to find local restaurants.

its only worth it when they are at least 80% off.

We have used them a lot in the past. It's a good way to keep your food budget down when traveling - we used them on our honeymoon and our anniversaries - great food while out of town!

Thank you Sue! Before I had my 2 boys I was a server/bartender and my husband is a full time bartender and we live off just his income now.  Alot of people don't realize that servers do not get paid the normal minimum wage, they usually get paid $2-$4 an hour (depending on state), and Uncle Sam usually takes all of that because we have to claim our tips.  My husband and I don't get out much, but when we do we are always generous tippers because we know that if we don't tip, our server really just worked for free to serve us.  I don't understand why people complain about having gratuity automatically added to their bill.  You are paying for a service.  If you can't afford to tip, you probably shouldn't go out to eat then.

I just bought one last week for Chinese food.  My kids are 18 and 21 so it cost a lot  to feed a family of 4 adults.    I used mine for carry out.  I paid $2.00 for a $25 Gift certificate ( I call them coupons) I used a coupon code also. The rules were I had to spend $35 to use the $25 coupon.   My order was $37 and after the coupon was $12.   So $14 and some change for Chinese food was very cheap. Cheaper than MCdonald's or other fast food.   I always buy them with a coupon usually 80% off the normal price.  They usually run that at the end of the month.

I would just say to look at the minimum purchase and the menu and make sure you would hit the minimum. I've used it with my boyfriend and if its just the 2 of us we have to order appetizers and dessert to hit the minimum and by the time you add tip we end up spending the amount we normally would have spent since we usually don't get appetizers or dessert. If  theres 3 or 4 people eating wtih one certificate it would be easier to hit that minimun.

One caution about the automatic gratuity. The first time I used one i was told by the hostess that the 18% went to "the company" not the server and that we needed to make sure to tip on top of that. I emailed restaurant. com and they told me the server was wrong and the gratuity is for the server and they contacted that restaurant and gave me two more $25 vouchers to use in the future. I went to different restaurants with those and did not have that issue. The customer service was great though, if you do have any problems.
