What behaviors do you refuse to change?

Started by Kim @Money and Risk , author of Money and Risk - Business and financial management resource for women and minori 11/12/2010 5:09:16 PM

I've been very sensitive to family dynamics in the past couple of years.  I've also been paying particular attention to my husband's behaviors as we start heading towards 10 years.  This is the time when many of my friends ended up being divorced.

In doing so, I know that certain aspects of my personality and behaviors irritate family members but after looking at it in detail, I do not intend to change.

They're things that everyone hates when I bring it up on a monthly basis such as finance or relationships shortfalls.  I get people running from the room with their hands over their ears sometimes.

Do you have habits that drives your family batty that you plan to continue?

Some people don't like to deal in reality. That's why I ended up getting divorced... at ten years. Funny.

I don't think there is anything that I would refuse to change. If there are things that I could improve that would make my life better, I would look at improving them. That being said, there are many characteristics that are innately me, and those are things that I wouldn't consider "bad habits", so changing them would mean changing my true self.

That would be worse than watching people run from a room.

I'm opinionated about things and won't hold back. I think this is something I don't plan on ever changing. It is what makes "me" and although it might bug those around me sometimes, it is part of the package that makes up "me".
