You left off "I know the rules, but refuse to follow them."  I know the rules of jewelry, but I love one necklace and wear it daily.  Who cares if my neckline on my shirt doesn't work for the necklace?  I don't.  :)  And I'll wear my necklace with t-shirts & ball gowns.  People can talk about my fashion faux  pas all they want.  I'm happy.

You are soooooo right, Amanda!  But you, my dear, are NOT a fashion faux pas.  Your necklace goes with everything.

I honestly think that MOST pieces can be worn with MOST shirts/gowns, etc.  You can wear the same necklace with a few different things and it changes the look of your outfit.  However, the problem (save for your example) is that if you wear the same piece over and over, it becomes part of your uniform.  A great way to change it up is to 'frame' your favorite necklace with another one, a longer one that matches or complements.  It would seem that it'd detract from the necklace you are intending to show off, but really it doesn't.  It makes the intended necklace POP!   I recommend Shannel or Fashion-able.  But for the necklace you are referencing ;) I'd go with Shannel!
