I never really do the whole celebrity thing... sounds like this guy is a bit of a jerk if you ask me....

I can respect his acting ability though, but you never really know how a person really is.... and then there is teh hype and what not...

   I personally like Mel Gibson's acting... He is a great actor and director... All the movies and money he has made proves that , HOWEVER HE SUCKS AS A PERSON... I look at the news and try not to judge but, you can't help but pass judgement on this guys behavior. He is a racist and abuser.  He is emotionally deranged and a drunk... He needs a lot of help. But I tell you I could not have been his wife , i would be in every cover for killing him..  I am intolerable to a man being so disrespectful to a woman ,especially a woman that gave birth to his child.. Where is the respect. I would have been the abuser in that relationship lol....

I am not condoning anything he said or threatened, but I could listen to that shit all day! It cracks me up! The insanity behind it just can't be real. Who says that stuff?! I love listening to every minute of it, but I will not be inviting him over to dinner or anything.

That being said, I think people are completely overreacting to what he said. The woman was clearly setting him up - and if you've never been in a nasty breakup or end of friendship that didn't leave you so mad and hurting, you said things you regret later, then you're probably not being honest with yourself. Just because someone didn't goad you into saying it on tape doesn't mean it doesn't happen all the time. 

There is more to this story thats not getting out. He might be a racist and a jerk, but theres more to what made him say the things he did. When one person knows theyre being taped and the other doesn't, something is up.

Very good point! And I agree; they are two seperate things but it just let's us know more about how they are in person. Golfers (hint, hint) or whoever; what they do in the personal lives has nothing to do with work. And, I don't put blind faith in anyone, at anytime.

Um, no.  In a former job I had some dealings with his production company and based on how the people who work for/with him conduct themselves, I have no doubt he's a raging @$$hole...

 That's funny! I think you should surround yourself with people that will represnt who you are.  We don't know the exact context of those recordings but we do know that it is his voice. If you have not heard the tapes, I have a recording on my blog.

Nope. Never watching a movie with him in it again.

I liked him when he was young, and I'm not only saying esthetically, I think he's degenerating by age, or he's going through some crisis.
