Have to get serious

Started by Bonnie 10/28/2011 11:44:47 AM

I read "Sugar Shock" quite a while ago.  I have tried cutting out sugar, had some success, but not lasting success.  It is time for me to really get serious about this.

For years, I have had yeast problems.  I finally went to the doctor and asked for an oral anti-fungal.  I don't want this to be for nothing, so I am going to really try hard.  It is so hard, especially with Halloween and Christmas coming.  The world is so big on promoting sugar.  I am very big on holiday traditions, and that makes it all the harder (Christmas goodies, etc.).  I am hoping being in this group will give me some much needed courage!!

Bonnie, that is my story too. I've thought about giving up sugar many, many times and just haven't been able to.

Now my health is going to force me. I have chronic system inflammation. They keep telling me it's not yeast and maybe it's not but the sugar is not doing me any good.

I just want to go cold turkey but I need help.

Thanks for replying Julie.  I is a little easier when you know you are not alone!  Have you tried going to a naturopath?  I have and it helped some, but I can't afford to go back until I get working.  I am a stay-at-home mom right now and I am taking a medical transcriptionist course from home.  When I finish and get a job, I think I can then afford to get my health more on track.  It is frustrating when you can't afford to do what you know you should be doing for your health because of lack of funds!  At least I hope I am on the right track.  I can't wait for Connie Bennett's new book to come out.  I will get it from the library (at least until I can afford to buy it).

Hang in there Julie!
