Snakes and heights are the most common and "surface" fears.

I get vertigo with heights and it seems to have gotten a little worse as I've gotten older.  I'll find myself getting dizzy on open stairwells sometimes.

In depth I'm terrified of failure.  In the past it has been to a crippling point.  Critical judgements and not be able to live up to others standards.  This is something I'm trying to get over in going back to school.

It's funny how much of my life has been based on fears in the last little while, and I have been learning to LIVE again. Fear can be quite crippling, and can squash your will greatly. I will always have a lingering fear of life and that of my daughters, and that she will be taken away from me. Ah, the gifts of a moron...

Sadly, I can relate to this.

I have an odd fear of dark water. I feel like something is lurking beneath the surface, a shark, a monster of some sort.

Oddly if there are other people in the water, I feel better. Perhaps they will get eaten first lol.

My biggest fear is being alone. No friends, family or anyone there to support me.

"Fear can be quite crippling, and can squash your will greatly."   Suzie I completely agree with this statement.

I believe in certain cases anything that causes this type of fear is the exact opposite of love.

My biggest fear is never living up to my potential.  To vacate this earth without leaving my mark.

I think wasted potential is one of the saddest things...
