HOW DO I GET STARTED?
The number of cloth diapers you will need will depend on the age of your baby. A newborn typically goes through 10-12 diapers a day, while an older baby may need 8-10 a day. It is recommended to have 3 days worth of diapers to start out with. You could start with less but that would mean you are washing much more frequently.
Your budget and choice of diapers would also greatly affect the number of diapers you purchase. Prefolds and covers are definitely the more frugal choice, but come with a slight learning curve. I have known many moms who started with pf's and were turned off because of it. I personally would say, if you have no experience with cloth diapers at all it is best to start with easy diapers such as pockets or AIO's. Your lifestyle will also affect your choice in diapers. If your baby in is child care, easy cloth diapers are a better choice.

Obviously, the numbers would be different if you used a bit of everything. There are tons of cloth diapering accessories out there, but you do not need all of them right away! If you are looking to start small, go with the necessities:
