Why did you start blogging?

Started by The Lady Bloggers Society , author of The Lady Bloggers Society — 8/8/2011 10:23:42 AM

I thought it would be interesting to start a BlogFrog discussion and here about why you started blogging?

1. Why did you start blogging?

2. Has that reason changed?

I started blogging because I need to have conversations with people. I missed being around adults and this was the perfect opportunity. After much encouragement from friends and my husband the rest is history.

My reasoning hasn't changed much, but my motives are much more focused and intentional now.

Visit my site and let me know what you think. I enjoy hearing from fellow blog froggers. smiley

I started blogging a year back.

I always loved writing in my Journal and when one of my friends started a blog and invited me to read I was thrilled at the possibility of expressing oneself so openly. Now after a year I still love blogging. It is like my hobby now. And I blog for myself, to express myself, to tell the world what I feel or how I do things or my thoughts and actions.

I blog about simple day to day things in life. I hope to keep doing it :) It is like an indulgence now that keeps me sane and happy!!

I started blogging because my husband was tired of listening to me talk about decorating! As a decorator and owning my one-woman-show type of business- I need someone to bounce ideas off of....and while he does still gladly listen, I find my blog- design peeps are far more responsive!

I started Blogging in March of this year. Shortly after my twin sister Janine died in 2008 a cousin suggested that I started a Blog but then I was not in the frame of mind to start one. My Blog is titled 'JUDY H-J'S THOUGHTS - A TWINLESS TWIN.' I share articles, poems, quotations, pictures etc. about being twins, becoming twinless and coping with loss and grief. I also write a wide variety of articles on the many interests that my twin and I shared. I have been a Freelance writer for many years but this Blog is a way that I use writing as a grief management tool. I also get a chance to look not only at sad times but many good times with my twin.

I started blogging without knowing that I was blogging. My son was diagnosed with cancer and we were told about a service that we could use to update family and friends - it was a blog through CaringBridge. That daily journal was our very first blog.

I started blogging as a way to vent my feelings about my husbands deployment to Iraq. Eventually I realized I couldn't talk about the miserable side of deployments all day everyday so I have geared my focus towards sharing other aspects of the Army life as well as helping others with their's.

I started blogging in 2008 because I wanted to share with others what I was learning in my relationship with God. I dabbled in posting recipes, being all domestic and crafty on my blog, and even tried some natural living ideas. As you can see, it was a plethora of randomness! I soon realized that I really enjoyed blogging and wanted to start doing it professionally. So, in releasing a new blog a few months ago, I went back to my first love of writing thought provoking articles and began encouraging women to start thinking outside of the box!

I've had several blogs over the years but now am concentrating on the one I started last winter. It features my novels-in-progress, short stories to be continued, flash and dark fiction, some semi-academic articles, spoofs, lists, advice, art and photography from artists I admire. The blog has turned into a place where I write almost every day. In time I hope to make it into something more, perhaps a place for writing contests and the like.

I started blogging because I love writing! When I became a certified Life/Career Coach it was a way for me to share ideas, inspire people, let people know what it was all about, etc. Now that I am a mommy (and still a Coach), my blog has evolved into more personal writing to share stories and photos with friends and family. My blog is a great collection of journal"ish" entries and one day my baby girl will read it and appreciate it!
