A recent article discusses a study conducted about processed meats and a link to heart disease and diabetes.

What are your thoughts?  Do you eat processed meats?  Would this affect your dietary choices?

It does affect my choices and I believe I still eat way too much lunch meat. I've managed to cut out almost all packaged foods from my families diets but the cost of deli meat ... well, it has me stumped. Thanks for the post

Good for you!  It really is a process (no pun intended!)  I'm still working on cleaning up my refrigerator and diet.  Sometimes it's easy to default to the convenience (and cost) even though we know it might not be as healthy as other options.

I wish your family all the best in health and happiness! and thanks for the comment :)

All meat, whether processed or not, are not healthy. First of all, millions of microbes start to infest on dead meat. Secondly, most meat are full of hormones (growth hormones are from cows being kept constantly pregnant to produce milk). These hormones do things to us" balding, prostate and breast cancer, increased chances of hot flashes (menopausal symptoms), etc. A very simple way to test this theory (for women) is to drink lots of milk everyday and see if your breasts feel tender around the duration or before menstruation. Next month, do without milk and note the difference. Google for Professor T. Collin Campbells on THE CHINA STUDY where he spent more than 30 years studying meat's effect on human health. He found that it's not just the animal fat, also the animal protein doing horrible things inside the human body. He was so shocked he became a vegan.

wow, that's an interesting thing to investigate.  Yes, an excessive of protein in the body can be detrimental to the body.  Animal protein does have certain properties that can make free radicals in the body, and lead to ailments.  However, animal protein does contain certain amino acids that takes more time to get if you are eating a solely vegan diet.

It is important to note that if deciding to take the route of being vegan, to know what types of foods pair together to make whole proteins so that the body can continue with it's RNA sequences and not cause any undue harm to the body.

Furthermore, it should be noted that without certain amino acids, it can cause harm to not only the physical body, but to the mental processes that we have everyday.

Thanks for your input, and I will look more into the China Study.  Have a great day!
