StumbleUpon WEEK 31

Started by Nicole Rivera , author of Searching for Sustenance 4/19/2011 10:48:41 PM

It's just about Wednesday again, and while I (of course!) have tons of catching up to do on last week's stumbling, it is time to get things started up again! So, without any further adieu, here is the rundown:

Welcome or welcome back to our Super Successful Stumbling Party!

To participate in this group, follow the rules below and remember the link you give does not have to be a current one, unless that is what you would like us to read right now.

THE RULES:

  • to participate you must stumble the other posts as well!!
  • remember, if you are asked to write a review, DO NOT SKIP IT. Write something nice about your fellow blogger, you are acting as their StumbleUpon PR agent when this happens.
  • give us the link to a post you would like us to read and share using Stumble Upon
  • give us your SU profile name so we can continue our sharing relationship beyond this group
  • check out Gigi's post How to Use StumbleUpon: Tutorial, to check out the tools that will make this easier for you in the process!

Also, after SO many weeks of this party, there are some helpful tips that have come up, so here they are:

TIPS FOR BLOGGING STUMBLERS:

  • Relevant and meaningful comments left on a blog post you have read and connected with can also bring new readers to your blog, so while you are stumbling don't forget about making that connection with each blogger and their readers.
  • To know IF one of your posts has been stumbled (and how many times) is a very simple task once you have installed the Stumble Upon tool bar (again, see above for Gigi's post that will give you a real easy how-to on installation and use!). Once you have the toolbar, you go to whichever page you are interested in (this works for ANY page on the Internet!), click "Info" on the toolbar and it will show you who stumbled that page and who reviewed it. If the page has not yet been stumbled, it will tell you that as well (just make sure you do this on the exact url you are interested in!)

*If you have any other tips that you think we should be sharing, add it to the discussion. If you have any questions, do the same. I will add all that we learn as we continue to grow!

(In case you have writer's block...) Here are the noted dates on my blogger's calendar for this week:

4/18-4/24 - National Park Week

4/24-4/30 - Admin Professionals Week

4/21 - Get to Know Your Customers Day

4/22 - Earth Day

Also, notes about APRIL:

~Autism Awareness Month

~Stress Awareness Month

~National Garden Month

~National Grilled Cheese Month

also, not noted on my calendar, but since it is the month that contains Earth Day (4/22), some say this is "Earth Month"

Enjoy the Stumbling Party!

Hey Stumblers!

You are all so wonderful and supportive and I thought who could I share this story with and I thought of you guys. If you have a chance and feel led, please stumble and share on facebook/twitter about this girl. She lives in Haiti in an orphanage that I'm closely associated with. This is a real girl with a real story. She is 15 and at age 16 she ages out of the system and a 16 year old girl with no schooling, no family, and no way to support herself has NO hope in Haiti. My friends and I are desperately trying to find her an adoptive home in the US. My husband and I would consider it, but the timing has to be so fast, I don't think we could get ready fast enough. The right family already needs to have a home study and approval by the United States Citizen and Immigration Services for an international adoption (that would be our hold-up). Anyway here is the post about Elange, from Haiti
