Do you let your children eat in the car?

We just cleaned under JDaniel carseat over the weekend. There were goldfish holding school under there.

yes. we wouldn't get a mile down the road if we didn't.

When they're little, you almost have to sometimes! My daughter doesn't often now, except on road trips if she's starving and I don't want to stop to sit down somewhere. But at almost 16, she's a lot cleaner about it.

We do, but usually just easy-to-clean things, like goldfish, not say a peanut butter sandwich.

Just about anytime we go out we bring snacks :)

I do, if need be.  Usually if they are it's because we are coming home from somewhere during their meal time.

I do.  Not only that...I let them eat in the living room too.  The blasphemy!  ;-)

Guilty!  I bring sippy cups and put them in my work fridge and fish crackers or granola bars for after I pick them up from daycare.  They are usually STARVING and THIRSTY!  Daycare does feed them I assure you.  But this makes my drive home about 1,000 times easier.

We did in our old car, but when we got the new-ish one I swore the only thing they could bring would be water. Well, 18 months later and that's out the window. We've had too many roadtrips to stop and get out every time they want a snack.

I told myself I would never let my kids to this.  This was long before I had a child.  I now realize I have two choices  1. a backseat covered in Cheerios and a pleasant drive home, or 2. a squeaky clean car with a screaming child.  Ummmm, I chose #1     It's amazing what one will give up just for some peace and quite.

I am ashamed to say yes I do let my kids eat in the car... And what is that how does that stuff get under that carseat that still baffles me really.

But I have to agree with laura it is for the peace and quiet they eat get a full belly along with a car ride and there you go a magic thing called peace.....

I am so glad I am not in the minority! You all make me feel better. We have eaten lunch in the car while watching construction equipment at a worksite. A car picnic is really messy.
