We have been having themed lunches and doing crafts that relate to the games.

You always have such great ideas!
We made some paper torches today for craft time and I tried to explain to them how the torch is passed and the Olympic flame that stays lit. I also did a quick "what the Olympis is" talk.
I'm hoping next week to host our own mini Olympics with a few friends...
Okay those are just adorable and I feel like a slacker, lol! I don't have anything planned other than we've been watching bits & pieces of the Olympics with the kids. I'm not a very crafty mom at all (i'm artistically challenged), lol!!!!
That sounds like a lot of fun!
We did it today - so fun to watch 5 little ones participating in their own mini Olympics...
I have been introducing my daughter to the Olympics as much as possible! We took her to see the torch when it came through our town and she has been in awe of the equestrian events, so she has been spending a lot of her time riding along on her rocking horse! I have put a lot of ideas for following the olympics with children on my website www.childcareclair.com so check it out!
You posted a great question. Here in Manila, things have been overshadowed by something else. it would be a great idea to watch the olympics with kids to introduce them to sports and sportsmanship (somehow).
