How young is too young for a sparkler?

Started by JDaniel4's Mom , author of JDaniel4's Mom 7/4/2012 6:14:24 AM

My next door neighbor's four year old is allowed to hold a sparkler, but the idea of my guy holding a lit object makes me nervous.

What do you think the right age to hold a sparkler is?

I think 4 is ok, but it also depends on the child.  Some children get quite nervous holding them and other children are ok with holding them.

If you are not comfortable with your child holding one, then wait until they are a little older.

I haven't let my kids use them yet, but I think it is all about what the parents and children are comfortable with.

How did it work out?

Sparklers make me nervous.

I wouldn't even consider them for my 3 and 4.5 yr. olds this year.
