Twitter & Working with Brands Discussion

Started by Texasholly , author of june cleaver nirvana 7/27/2011 3:02:58 PM

Hi Everyone,

I made this super high quality video this morning about Twitter & how it can help you work with brands:

Here are some of the links I mention:

The super short version of what I say in the video:

  • Numbers ARE important
  • People ARE tracking what you are doing on Twitter
  • Make sure people can find you - display your twitter name/link in upper right corner of your blog
  • Get involved in conversations on twitter that interest you
  • Increase your numbers by following people EVERY DAY...really, EVERY DAY with a target of 200 people per day

What have YOU learned on Twitter?

Please share a twitter tip in the conversation below which is from The Blog Frog's Mom Loop forum.

This is seriously one of the best sources of info on Twitter I've seen in a long time!!

I got more actionable info in it then I did at a blog Conference class I went to on Twitter! I've never heard of Tweet reach but I will def be checking it out!

Recently, I've been very impressed with KloutPerks. They have sent me a flip cam, a year of deodorant, a great dvd set- and when I was first offered it all I was sure it was a scam! So my advice is when kloutperks starts tweeting you offers...believe them!smiley

PS. Holly you are adorable:)

One of the things I didn't mention on the list above was checking how much you are reaching on Tweet Reach on a regular basis.

The free version of Tweet Reach allows you to search the latest 50 tweets related to a certain topic as long as they are within the last 4 days.

Even the paid version only allows 4 days back search due to Twitter search restrictions.

You can run a free report on yourself or on a hashtag that you are promoting and see how you are impacting that conversation.

I've seen it both ways. I first encountered it when they were tweeting me directly giving me a link. The link would have an offer from a company (for instance Visa was offering the Flip Camera).

However, recently I've seen they are letting anyone who is signed up for klout check if they can get certain dashboard offers. It will tell you when you click on the offer if you are eligible. You can check what dashoboard offers you qualify for here.

Question: Any idea what if any impact it has when people +k you on klout? I'm guessing it doesn't hurt to be verified?Any more significant than that?

Speaking of which: If anyone wants to K+ me I'll return the favor! My profile is here: http://klout.com/#/milkandcuddles

To give K+ you go to the persons klout page and at the top right there will be a list of the things Klout thinks that Twitter profile "specializes" in. If you click the bottom of that list- it takes you to a page listing those things. And anyone registered with Klout can click next to any of the topics they agree the person does tweet about!

That easy. You have 4 k+ you can give per day:)
